Cookies and Browser Storage

1. Essential storage

We store what is needed for the service to work and to stay secure: your sign-in session if you are an administrator, and short-lived values that keep your place while you complete the consultation and the Business Metrics Questionnaire. Without these the service cannot function.

2. First-party session identifier for funnel statistics

We generate a rotating, random session identifier and hold it in your browser’s sessionStorage. It lets us count, in aggregate, how many people reach each stage of the service, for example how many who start the consultation go on to complete it.

• It is first-party only and is never shared with other sites.
• It is not an advertising identifier and is not used for tracking you across the web.
• It rotates, and it is discarded when you close the browser tab.

3. Server-side measurement and error monitoring

Analytics events are recorded on our server, not in your browser, and are sent to PostHog against that session identifier under a strict allowlist of event names and properties. Sentry records application errors, with personal detail scrubbed before the event is stored. We do not run browser-side PostHog, session replay or advertising tags.

4. Your controls, and one limitation

Statistical analytics run by default on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding where the service works, and you can object at any time using the in-product opt-out below. The choice takes effect immediately, is remembered in this browser, and can be reversed whenever you like.

When you switch statistical analytics off, we stop recording funnel events from your browser and we remove the session identifier straight away. No new session identifier is created while you remain opted out. Essential services are unaffected: sign-in, the consultation, payments, delivery of your report, security and error monitoring all continue to work exactly as before.

You can also clear browser storage or use a private window, which removes the session identifier, and you can contact support@hegartyaisolutions.com with any question about statistical measurement. We should be clear about one honest limitation: events already recorded are anonymous and aggregate, and the rotating session identifier is not normally linkable to an email address, so earlier events generally cannot be traced back to you or removed retrospectively on the strength of an email request alone.
